Inglemoor ace Dustin Doucette was at his best on Tuesday night at Valhalla, handcuffing the potent Mustang offense in a 7-1 victory over No. 2 Redmond, giving the red-hot Vikings their fourth straight win.
Doucette struck out 13 in a complete-game effort while scattering six hits to earn his fourth win on the season.
The Mustangs struck first blood as Zach Abbruzza, who is leading all of 4A Kingco in batting average (.553), doubled to plate leadoff hitter Michael Conforto.
From then on, it was all Vikings, including a monster second inning, highlighted by Adam Mosebar’s triple that scored two, and an RBI double by shortstop Mitchell Gunsolus.
Gunsolus finished the game 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Connor Savage scored three times.
With the win, the Vikings improved to 6-4 in league play and 10-5 overall.
