Two Bothell High School cross country athletes will compete for the state title Saturday thanks to top-ten finishes during the district meet.

Two Bothell High School cross country athletes will compete for the state title Saturday thanks to top-ten finishes during the district meet.

Charlie Barringer and Jacob Straus finished eighth and ninth at Lake Sammamish State Park on Monday and will represent the Cougars in Pasco during the state meet.

Barringer finished in a time of 15-minutes, 51-seconds, while his teammate was just behind him with a time of 15:51.6.

The district meet was supposed to take place on Saturday, but was postponed due to high winds and falling branches at Lincoln Park during the weekend.
