You can usually on Sophia Swain to be a game-changer, but the Inglemoor senior took things to the next level on Wednesday.
Swain hit two home runs and finished with eight RBIs as the Inglemoor High softball team took care of Redmond 18-4 in KingCo League action at Hartman Park in Redmond.
The senior hit a grand slam in the top of the fourth inning when the game was already decided, giving the Vikings (9-4 overall, 6-3) at 17-3 advantage.
Inglemoor scored nine runs in the top of the second inning, helping to erase a 2-1 deficit after the first frame. Swain hit a two-run homer in the top of the third, followed by a solo bomb from Talia Starr to give Inglemoor a 13-2 edge.
Starr went 4-4 with three RBIs on the day, Teagan McDonald was 2-4 with two RBIs and Hannah Shmek went 2-3 with one RBI and two walks.
Mackenzie DeKay went the distance for Inglemoor, allowing nine hits giving up four earned runs.
The Vikings have won their last two games by a combined score of 28-4, and are currently fourth in the KingCo 4A standings. Next, Inglemoor is scheduled to play Issaquah at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 in Kenmore.
