cedar park baseball, golf tee off seasons
The Cedar Park Christian baseball team is starting off with fresh faces. As many varsity players graduated last year, the team may seem young, but it is still hoping to go to state.
The Eagles played their first game of the season against Archbishop Murphy on Friday, losing 13-2. Andrew Kaleohano and Dale Wilson scored for the Eagles, while Brian Long and Griffin Walker had hits.
Senior and returning varsity player Wilson gives his highlight of the game: “Josh Lake made an awesome play at third base and home.”
He added: “I am very excited to see how the underclassmen are going to perform. There are a lot of new people. So it will be exciting to see how they show themselves and how they fit in.”
• The Eagle boys golf team played its first match against King’s West last Tuesday afternoon, going 1-1 in the three-team match.
Returning star player Jeff Doherty comments about this year’s team: “I’m excited most about as a team just everyone improving and getting better. We haven’t had that much time together, but it seems like a pretty good group.”
