Six Inglemoor athletes finish Sehome Invitational on podium | Prep cross country

The Inglemoor High School cross country team had a good day Saturday at the Sehome Invitational in Bellingham, as six runners completed the race on the podium.

The Inglemoor High School cross country team had a good day Saturday at the Sehome Invitational in Bellingham, as six runners completed the race on the podium.

Amber Rose led the way for Inglemoor finishing sixth overall and third for all junior girls competing. She finished the race with a time of 12 minutes, 5 seconds. Rose and her teammates won the team title for junior girls during the meet. Other scoring junior girls contributing to the team title were Casie Moe, Caroline Hung, Amanda Zimmer and Anna Richards.

Three sophomores for the Vikings finished on the podium, as Nick Laccinole, Bailey Fjelstul and Gavin Parpart were the top in the grade level race.

Laccinole finished finished second in the boys race with a time of 10:37. Parpart finished just 32 seconds behind his teammate for fifth place.

Fjelstul was fourth overall for sophomore girls. She finished the course with a time of 12:54.

Viking Katie Diekema finished seventh overall for junior girls, with a time of 12:47.

Senior Blake Slattengren finished ninth out of all the senior boys running  with a time of 10:23.
