Siu slams game-winning HR

Inglemoor trailed 7-0 midway through the second, but Kurt Wagner, Mason Weathers and Spencer Trautmann pitched superbly in relief with Trautmann picking up the victory.

Logan Moen went 2-for-3 and Erik Raynes went 1-for-3, both of whom picked up RBIs as Inglemoor improved to 9-5 with the victory.

• Bothell’s baseball pitchers were dominant on the road last week, first in a 4-0 shutout of Ballard April 14 and then in a 3-1 victory against Roosevelt April 16.

Sophomore Evan Hudson pitched a complete game against Roosevelt, striking out 12 hitters and giving up just four hits. Cory Burk, Craig Monson and Ian McKay all had hits and RBIs in the victory.

Two days earlier, it was McKay and Kevin Higginbotham combining for the three-hit shutout. Catcher James Korn hit a solo home run in the fourth and McKay went 3-for-4 at the plate to drop Ballard.

Bothell was 10-5 in 4A Kingco as of the Reporter’s deadline.

• Cedar Park Christian baseball team is 2-1 since coming back from spring break, with wins against Seattle Christian and University Prep and a 5-1 loss to Bellevue Christian.

Jon Ramos pitched the three-hit shutout against 1A Emerald City League opponent University Prep, while Tim Dressler went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two doubles April 16.

It was the second loss for Cedar Park against Bellevue Christian, which sat atop the Emerald City league standings as of the Reporter’s deadline with a 5-2 mark. Cedar Park was 3-2 and Overlake was 2-1.

Softball

Ellen Bogardus had a walk-off, game-winning RBI double in the eighth inning and Ashliegh Carter pitched more than four innings of shutout ball as Bothell defeated Roosevelt, 3-2, in an eight-inning 4A Kingco softball game April 15.

Sophomore pitcher Courtney Keane got the start and struck out five as Bothell pitchers limited Roosevelt to six hits.

Bothell won its second game last week against Garfield by forfeit, and is 5-4 on the Kingco season.

Tennis

Brittni Adams led three Cougars who won singles and doubles matches as Bothell defeated Inglemoor, 8-1, in a 4A Kingco girls tennis match Thursday.

Adams won No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-0, and then combined with Estee Kaskes to win No. 2 doubles, 8-3. Kaskes won her singles match, No. 3, 6-2, 6-4.

Coco Bator came away with the lone Viking victory, winning No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, over Erin Kuboshige. Kuboshige got her revenge in doubles, however, combining with Nicole Henderson — who won No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1 — to beat Bator and Claire Latham, 8-3.

Track and field

Cedar Park Christian School’s Zach Keene and Scott MacDonald proved themselves among the best in the Northwest, at the 58-team Pasco Invitational track-and-field meet that spanned three states.

Keene, a senior at the Bothell-based school, placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.17 seconds. Keene’s personal best of 10.94 earlier this year leads Class 1A.

Scott MacDonald’s throw of 46 feet, 11.50 inches in the shot put was good for 16th place at the prestigious invite. MacDonald’s top throw of 50-2.5 has him ranked second in the state at the Eagles’ classification.
