Hosting the 3A Sammamish Totems at home, the Inglemoor baseball squad scored early and held on for a 6-2 non-league win.
The Vikings plated two runs in the first and four more in the fifth as starting pitcher Obi Taylor went three strong innings for the win, scattering four hits.
Leading the offense for Inglemoor was shortstop Mitchell Gunsolus, going 2-for-2 with a triple, with Emmett Maki, Peter Meuisi and Adam Mosebar each pitching in with a base knock.
With the win, the Vikings improved to 4-2 overall and remained 1-1 in league play.
Cougar baseball falls to Mercer Island
Playing in a non-league contest against 3A Mercer Island, the Bothell High baseball team came back from a 6-1 deficit to fall just short in a 6-5 loss.
The fifth inning doomed the Cougars as the Islanders plated five runs, highlighted by an RBI double by David Oppenheim.
Pacing the offense for Bothell was Jon Mercer (3-for-4, triple) and Mitchell Vido (2-for-4, 2 RBIs).
With the loss, the Cougars dropped to 4-2 overall and remained 2-0 in league play.
Inglemoor soccer draws with Bothell
Playing in a classic 4A Kingco boys’ soccer rivalry at Pop Keeney Stadium on Thursday night in their league opener, the Vikings and Cougars played to a 1-1 draw.
Scoreless going into the second half, the Cougars got on the board by a shot from Jeff Smith off a feed from Alex Gosselin in the 52nd minute, with Ian Schweickart answering with an unassisted goal in the 67th minute to cap the scoring.
Bothell’s record went to 1-1-2 and Inglemoor’s 1-3-1 on the season.
