Bothell plated two in the first inning and then two more in the sixth on big hits by Dain Gilbert (2-for-3) and Kevin McShane (triple, 2 RBIs).

Lefthander Henry Baillargeon got the win, going the distance while striking out seven and scattering five hits.

The Cougars improved to a Crown-division leading 9-2 and 10-4 overall.

Errors cost Vikings against Falcons

Team defense let the Vikings down on Thursday night as Inglemoor lost an all-Northshore 4A Kingco baseball tilt to the Falcons, 4-2.

Woodinville jumped out to a 4-0 lead, which proved to be enough as the Vikings were only able to muster three hits, highlighted by an RBI triple by speedy shortstop Mitchell Gunsolus.

The Vikings committed a season-high six errors on defense, as Obi Taylor was tagged with the tough-luck loss – none of the Falcons’ four runs were earned.

The loss dropped Inglemoor to 6-5 in league play and 10-6 overall.

Cedar Park edges Bellevue Christian

In a thrilling 1A Emerald City League golf match, the Cedar Park boys beat the rival Vikings by one stroke at Twin Rivers on Thursday afternoon, 169-170.

Eagles’ standout Grant Zapara fired a 1-under-par 35 to medal, followed by Jinwoo Park at 42 and Michael Harry at 43.

The Vikings’ low man was Bo Foster, who shot 40.

Bothell soccer falls short against Skyline

Although the league-leading Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead, the Cougars’ soccer team fought back in a 4A Kingco soccer matchup on Thursday night at home, coming just short in their comeback effort 3-2.

Junior Loreto scored on a Mauricio Aguilar assist just before the first half ended, and Aguilar took one in himself in the 48th minute to pull the Cougars within one.

The loss dropped Bothell to 1-5-1 in league play and 2-6-2 overall.
