Bothell’s Brian McAfee was a one-man wrecking machine for the Cougars on Wednesday against Issaquah, as the Cornell-bound senior pitched a one-hitter while striking out 10 Eagles in a complete-game 1-0 win.
McAfee also scored Bothell’s lone run in the pitcher’s duel, a solo shot in the second inning against Eagles’ ace Andrew Kemmerer, who allowed just four hits while striking out five.
Sam Lee (1-for-3) and Brad Monson (1-for-2) notched the other hits for Bothell, which improved to 7-1 in 4A Kingco play and 9-3 overall.
The Cougars play again tonight against No. 6 Newport, at Newport High, first pitch at 4 p.m.
