Not a bad resume for the rookie program: league champs and regional finalists, one win away from the national championships.

The North Creek Junior Peewee Pop Warner football team added to that resume, beating the Castro Valley Gladiators, 21-14, to win the Best of the West title on Dec. 3 at Townsend Field in Santa Clara, Calif.

The Jaguars trailed 14-0, but rallied to win in the season finale.

The bar is high for next season.

“Huge expectations, (but) we’ll do our best to keep that standard,” coach James Ronneberg said.
