The Monroe High School girls basketball team pulled off a big upset in defeating Inglemoor, 52-43, on Saturday at Mountlake Terrace High School during the second round of the school’s holiday tournament.
Inglemoor, ranked No. 2 in the state, was missing one of its biggest stars in Deja Strother.
Inglemoor began the game with a slim 14-10 lead but quickly fell behind during the second quarter and trailed 24-20 at halftime.
Monroe managed to stay just ahead of the Vikings during the second half to complete the upset.
Alex Hagen led Inglemoor with 16 points.
