The Bothell High School boys basketball team made a run at two comebacks Tuesday night but only their first half effort was successful as they lost 65-56 to Issaquah at home.
The Eagles jumped out a huge 24-12 lead during the first quarter. That lead was not enough to overcome the Cougars’ suffocating defense during the second quarter. Issaquah scored just two baskets from the field during the second quarter, as Bothell battled back to tie the game by halftime 29-29.
But once again Issaquah jumped out to a big lead during the third quarter, settling into a 48-41 advantage. But the Eagles kept the pressure on during the final eight minutes of play to win the game.
Josh Martin led the Cougars with 33 points.
