The hometown squad performed well at the eSynchro National Championship swim meet at King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way on June 27, as the Seattle Synchronized Swim Club had a number of high finishes.

Leading the way were Redmond residents Grace Chen and Lilly Cao, placing fourth with their 11-12 age group teammates in the team routine competition. Kenmore resident Maya Chungbin-Steeley (11-12 age group) placed eighth out of 36 teams in her trios routine, and Allison Tanner (13-15) placed 10th with her team out of 39 entries.

In addition, Bothell’s Emily Drew qualified for the U.S. Junior National Team, and Akira Baysinger, also of Bothell, made the U.S. 11-12 National Team.

The eSynchro Championships is the largest synchronized swimming meet in the world with nearly 80 teams and almost 1,000 athletes represented from across the country.
