Local athletes run wild on the gridiron | Sports Notebook

If you blinked or took a snack break during last weekend’s football games, you might have missed some monumental rushing action.

Each of the prep teams we cover sported big-yard rumblers. REALLY huge numbers to add to their resumes. So, if you want to check out some serious rushers who are tough as steel and possess feet of fury, the games await you.

Tops on the list is Cedar Park Christian’s Zach Wilkins, who ran wild for 299 yards on 23 carries for three touchdowns of 48, 71 and 85 yards in the Eagles’ 27-23 loss to Blaine.

“That’s his biggest rushing achievement to date. He went full beast on us!” said mom Lisa Wilkins in an email.

In Bothell’s 59-41 win over Kennedy Catholic, Christian Galvan ignited the Cougars’ offensive attack with 30 carries for 251 yards and four touchdowns on two runs of 5 yards, a 4-yarder and a 29-yarder.

For Inglemoor, Jake Dick ran the ball 24 times for 136 yards in the Viks’ 21-14 victory over Roosevelt.

North Creek unleashed a three-pronged attack in its 46-16 triumph over West Seattle with Timothy Olson toting the ball eight times for 123 yards; Jaden Landagora scoring three times on runs of 8 and 19 yards and a 60-yard kickoff return and amassing 107 yards on 10 carries; and Shea Hoogerwerf scoring on runs of 8 and 17 yards and hauling the ball 13 times for 99 yards.
