The Bothell High School volleyball team lost to Issaquah Monday 3-2 at home despite some strong defense.
Issaquah began the contest with a 25-22 win before the Cougars took over. Bothell destroyed the Eagles in game two with a 25-10 win and then followed it up with a 25-19 victory.
The Cougars seemed poised to take the match but Issaquah pulled out a hard-fought victory in game four 28-26 to force a tiebreaker, where they won 15-13 to take the match.
Bothell’s Cassidy Olcese was a defensive dynamo, collecting 35 digs. Reese Laufasa 36 assists and 18 digs, while teammates Karly Ernster and Hailey Crane combined for 36 kills.
