The Inglemoor High cross country teams had dominant showings on the girls’ and boys’ sides on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Marymoor Park in Redmond.
The boys scored 25 points, a season low, to beat Woodinville and Newport. Junior Liam Elias set a new career-best of 16 minutes, 33 seconds to finish third overall. Ray Vernon, Wilson Turk, Cooper Laird and Andrew Vernon rounded out the top five for Inglemoor, with senior Ethan Karlinsey finishing eighth overall.
Woodinville’s Luke Houser and Dustin Lind finished first and second, respectively.
The girls’ team scored only 22 points, led by senior Rebecca Ledsham, who finished in 19:36.
The Inglemoor girls were missing three of the top 10 runners, but still managed to take four of the top five spots on Tuesday. Freshman Olivia Wisont finished second, Etta Moen finished third and Caitlynn Parpart finished fourth.
Seaside 3-Course Challenge
The Inglemoor girls’ and boys’ teams both finished fourth overall at the 3-Course Challenge on Saturday, Sept. 17 in Seaside, Ore.
Andrew Vernon, Karlinsey and Spencer Neher medaled in the boys’ easy race, Ray Vernon land Laird medaled in the moderate race and Elias medaled in the difficult race. Elias finished seventh overall, in 20:10, which coach Kelly Richards said was one of the best times ever recorded by an Inglemoor runner at the event.
Wisont finished sixth overall in the girls’ easy race, and Ledsham finished third overall in the girls’ difficult race, setting an Inglemoor girls’ record for the course.
Next, Inglemoor is scheduled to compete in the Twilight Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville.
