Bothell bowed out and Inglemoor hung in there at the 4A Kingco volleyball tournament.
Hannah Strom had a team-high 11 kills as Inglemoor (10-6 overall) knocked off Roosevelt, 3-0, in last Saturday’s opening round. However, No. 1-ranked Issaquah defeated the Viks, 3-0, on Tuesday to force the locals into the loser’s bracket — they will play Garfield at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bothell.
Also starring for Inglemoor against Roosevelt were Samantha Reed with 30 assists and Stephanie Griffiths and Emily Anderson with 13 digs each. Griffiths had 21 digs against Issaquah.
For Bothell (5-11 overall), the Cougars fell, 3-1, to Newport in the opening round and lost, 3-2, to Garfield on Tuesday.
Cougar Piercen Lundquist hammered 20 kills against Newport and had 28 kills against Garfield. Hope Frazier had 31 digs in the Garfield contest.
