The Inglemoor boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both broke into the top-10 at the 10th annual Nike Twilight Cross Country Invitational on Saturday in Marysville.
The boys’ team finished fifth overall with 191 points and second among KingCo teams. Senior Ethan Karlinsey led the team, finishing in a season-best 16 minutes, 27.9 seconds for 25th place overall.
“The boys went out and ran as a team,” Inglemoor coach Kelly Richards said. “The focus this season has been on pack running and having a team mentality in all races and workouts. Ethan is now healthy and and is doing a great job leading the team with fellow senior Wilson Turk.”
Junior Liam Elias set a new PR of 16:30.8 to finished 28th, junior Ray Vernon finished 34th in 16:35.9 and Turk finished 45th in 16:46.3.
Cooper Laird, the top-ranked Freshman in KingCo 4A, rounded out the scoring five with a 59th place finish in 16:55.
The Bothell boys’ team finished 16th overall, led Brandon Simmons. The junior finished 20th overall in 16:21.5.
The Inglemoor girls’ team finished 10th overall and second among KingCo teams with 318 points.
Senior Rebecca Ledsham was the lead runner, finishing 10th overall in 18:44 — a season record.
Inglemoor freshman Olivia Wisont and senior Etta Moen finished 71st and 72nd, respectively. Sophomore Caitlyn Parpart finished 86th and junior Ellee London finished 97th.
The Bothell girls’s team finished 20th overall, led by sophomore Liza Yusem’s 32nd-place finish.
Next, Bothell, Skyline and Inglemoor are scheduled to compete on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore.
