Inglemoor High’s girls track team ran away from the field at Friday’s 4A Kingco Championship meet at Eastlake High, finishing with 149 team points, with Skyline placing second with 101.33.

Inglemoor got its first win with Becca Berge’s run of 14.76 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, bettering her prelim time by .20 of a second.

Berge’s teammate Erin Allen took the 300 hurdles in 45.59.

The Vikings also took two of three relay races, with Lindsay Johanson, McKenna Grimsby, Tess Parent and Hannah Stevenson combining to edge out Skyline 48.37 to 48.94 in the 400, then taking the 800 in 1:42.60.

In the field, jumping phenom Parent won the long jump (17 feet, 7.5 inches) and took the triple jump by over a foot at 37 feet, 10.5 inches.

On the boys’ side, Bothell put together an impressive showing, finishing second to Skyline 127 points to 90.5, with the Vikings fourth at 74.5 points.

Inglemoor junior sprinter Mark Roetcisoender had a stellar run of 11.08 in the 100 only to get nipped by Skyline senior Alex Lee (11.01), and again in the 200, Lee edged him out 22.16 to 22.23.

Bothell senior Ashkon Nima ran a season-best 1:56.48 to take the 800, and Redmond star Mack Young (4:18.67) outlasted Inglemoor’s Bernie Hagan (4:19.76) in the 1,600.

In the field, Shamus Mukai finished second in the pole vault, clearing 14 feet.

Both the Vikings and Cougars will compete at the 4A District 2 and 4 meet, which will take place at Southwest Athletic Complex in Seattle this Friday.
