Katie Diekema and Amber Rose represented Inglemoor High School at the East/West Senior All-Star race on July 11 at the Run of the Mill 5K.

The race represents the top graduating seniors who ran at the Washington State Cross Country Championships last fall. Both girls were on the Inglemoor team that placed seventh overall.

Rose will be competing for University of Portland in the fall and Diekema will be running for Calvin College in Michigan.

Diekema also won one of the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association Scholarships. This is the fourth year in a row an Inglemoor athlete has received a scholarship from the association. The scholarship is based on academic achievement and community service. Diekema graduated this past spring with a full IB diploma and a 3.98 GPA. She also won several academic awards.
