North Bothell Little League’s bats were blazing again, but the locals came up short with a 14-9 loss to Idaho in the semifinals of the Northwest Regional and ended its summer season.
Idaho will take on Oregon at noon today in the championship game on ESPN.
On Friday at Al Houghton Stadium in San Bernardino, California, North Bothell led 3-1 after one inning, but Idaho churned out seven runs in the top of the second to take charge. Idaho padded its lead with three runs in the top of the fifth to make the score 11-4, and that’s when North Bothell’s bats exploded to deliver five runs in its half of the inning to close the gap to 11-9. Idaho scored three more in the top of the sixth.
North Bothell (3-2 at the tournament) received two hits each from Blake Skinner, Dominic Wilson (double), Kody Moyer (double, four RBIs) and Zach Daniel and singles from Cayden Christopherson and Nolan LeDoux. Skinner, Christopherson and Daniel had RBIs.
