Gonzales and Gonzalez both win 4A KingCo wrestling titles

The Inglemoor and Bothell High School wrestling teams finished eight and ninth respectively during the 4A KingCo wrestling championship but it was individual performances that held the most weight for the two teams.

Overall, Issaquah won the team title with 209 points on Saturday at Skyline High School, while the Vikings finished with 88 points and Bothell with 71 as a team.

 

Each Northshore team had an individual champion during the meet, as Ingelmoor junior Kris Gonzalez won the 120 pound weight class bracket and Bothell senior Osvaldo Gonzales won the 170 pound bracket. Both wrestlers advance to districts with a No. 1 seed from KingCo.

 

For Inglemoor, Gonzalez championship was bitter sweet as he defeated his teammate, junior Bailey Claudon, during the final. Claudon finished second with his strong performance during the tournament.

 

Sophomore Trevor Crabb of Bothell continues to have a strong start to his wrestling career, finishing second in the 113 pound weight class and Inglemoor junior Alex Rodriguez finished second in the heavy weight division.

 

Four wrestlers finished fourth during their respective brackets, including Bothell sophomore Cameron Roark (106), Inglemoor freshman Braden Dick (152), Bothell junior Josh Olsen (138) and Bothell senior Keaton Barr (170).

 

Inglemoor sophomore Santiago Henao finished fifth at 160.

 

Bothell junior Bryce Ames finished sixth in the 113 weight class and Inglemoor junior Luke Munro also finished sixth at 182.
