The Eastlake Wolves dealt the Inglemoor Vikings their second-straight KingCo league loss on Wednesday, pulling away for a 7-4 victory at Inglemoor High School.
The Wolves (5-2, 2-0 in KingCo) scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but saw the Vikings (3-4, 0-2) fight back to tie the contest 4-4 heading into the fifth inning.
Eastlake took back the lead, with Ben Lathwell swinging for an RBI single in the top of the fifth to bring home Hank Pladson. Three batters later, Reid Pierzchalski brought home Lathwell on a sacrifice fly.
Eastlake reliever Nathan Fitzgibbons held the Vikings scoreless over the course of the final three innings, allowing no hits and no runs while striking out six. Offensively, the Wolves tacked on another run in the top of the seventh inning to cushion their advantage.
Henry Wiebke batted 2-for-4 with 4 RBI for Eastlake. Pierzchalski was 1-for-2, scoring two runs while driving in two more. For Inglemoor, Sean Mulcare and Tyson Thurman each batted 2-for-3 at the plate, with Thurman scoring a run and Mulcare scoring twice.
Next, Inglemoor will take on Issaquah (3-3, 0-2) at 4 p.m. Friday at Issaquah High School.
