The Eastlake Wolves claimed an early four-run advantage against Bothell and managed to hold off the Cougars the rest of the way, defeating Bothell 5-3 Monday at Eastlake High School.
Eastlake’s Hank Pladson batted 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple and an RBI as the Wolves (4-2, 1-0 in KingCo) dealt Bothell its first loss of the young season. Derek Lohr was 2-for-3 at the plate for the Cougars (4-1, 0-1), also swinging for a triple, while teammate Brody Ponti registered a hit and batted in two runs.
Alec Gomez earned the win for Eastlake, allowing three earned runs off four hits while striking out 10.
Bothell will host Issaquah (3-2, 0-1) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bothell High School.
