Facing elimination from the regional playoffs Saturday night the Cedar Park Christian boys basketball team beat La Center Saturday 74-51 at Mount Vernon High School.

The win moves the Eagles into the state tournament at the SunDome in Yakima Valley next week.

The Eagles wasted little time, showing that their offense was not going to be matched. The team jumped out to an 18-11 lead and them built on that momentum to take a 41-27 lead into halftime.

Cedar Park kept the pressure on through the third quarter, scoring 22 points and coasting to the victory.

The Eagles did a good job of moving the ball as four players finished in double figures. Evan Scholten led the squad with 20 points, while Trey Drechsel and Luke Saufferer each had 13 points. Teammate Daniel Christenson finished with 12 points.

The win follows back-to-back losses two weeks apart, one to end the regular season and the other to start regionals.
