Community donates more than $23,000 to Cedar Park Christian football coach

The story of Cedar Park Christian head football coach Bill Marsh and his battle with Bell’s palsey had a profound affect on the Eagle community — so much so, friends, family and players have raised more than $23,000 to bless the Cedar Park Christian football coach.

Marsh, who has also coached at Cedarcrest High School and Eastside Catholic, missed half of the games this season after health concerns made coaching an impossible task.

The narrative of a football team rallying around their coach spread far and wide.

On Oct. 23, Fred Green, president of Cedar Park Christian Junior Football and Cheer, started a GoFundMe to help Marsh cover out-of-pocket medical costs. Well-wishers donated $23,195 over the next eight days, sharing the GoFundMe page nearly 800 times on Facebook.
