The Cedar Park Christian girls basketball team used a big third quarter to buffer a Vashon Island comeback on Wednesday night. The Eagles won the game 40-33 at Vashon Island High School.
Both teams struggled from the floor during the first quarter, combining for just 11 points. The Eagles doubled its point total from the first eight minutes during the second quarter to take a 21-14 lead into halftime. But it was a 15-8 third-quarter run that buffered a comeback by the home team. Vashon won the fourth quarter 11-4 but it was not enough.
Cedar Park was led by Madison Parmenter, who finished with 16 points, and Laura Goodnight had 14. Six players scored for the Eagles.
