Cedar Park Christian’s baseball team defeated University Prep, 13-8, last Friday.
In the beginning, fans wondered if the Eagles would come out with a win, but by the fourth inning Cedar Park dominated and gave the fans something to cheer about with some runs en route to the victory.
Junior Luke Burns and sophomore Riley O’Reagan each pitched two innings. Sophomore Andy Littlefield secured two hits and scored one run, while senior Dale Wilson had one hit and scored one run.
Softball
Cedar Park’s gals took on Forest Ridge last Tuesday, winning 14-5. Freshman Dalia Davis homered, while junior Julie Nivison had three hits, three runs batted in and one home run.
In four innings, Cedar Park devoured University Prep last Friday, 23-1. Senior Anna Lowery had one run, one hit and one run batted in, while junior Shannae Stafford had two runs, four hits, seven runs batted in and a crowd-roaring home run.
Track and field
During last Wednesday’s Emerald City League Meet in West Seattle, Cedar Park senior Jordan Scholten took first place in the 200 meters with a time of 23.99 seconds. Sophomore Faith McDonald took first place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 17.19. The girls’ 4×100 relay, including Mikaela Raschick, Alyssa Lundberg, Cydnee Dufenhorst and McDonald, came in first place with a time of 53.72.
The annual King’s Invitational took place at King’s High last Saturday. Senior Nick Kunnanz came in seventh place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.39. In the 3,200 meters, sophomore Andrew Dedo placed sixth with a time of 10:32.63. Senior Joel Robert celebrated taking first place in shot put with a distance of 46 feet, 01.25 inches. Raschick tied for second place in the high jump with a height of 5 feet.
