The Cedar Park Christian volleyball team pulled out its first match of the season in grand fashion Wednesday with a 3-2 victory at Cascade Christian High School in Puyallup.

The Cedar Park Christian volleyball team pulled out its first match of the season in grand fashion Wednesday with a 3-2 victory at Cascade Christian High School in Puyallup.

Cascade won the first game 26-24 before the Eagles came storming back to take a 2-1 lead with 25-20 and 25-17 wins.

But Cascade’s home-court advantage fueled the team to tie the match with a 25-20 fourth-game victory. The Eagles would not be denied, though, winning a close tiebreaker 15-13 to earn the match win.

Cedar Park was led by Mikayla Massad with 20 kills, 24 digs and four aces. Teammate Abby Snyder led the team with 35 assists, had 20 digs and three aces. Jericha Jensen led the Eagles with five aces and had 20 digs.

Cedar Park will take on Chimacum at 5:45 p.m. Friday at home.
