Led by four first-team 1A all-North Sound Conference players from last season, the Cedar Park Christian Eagles girls soccer squad is off to a 3-2-0 overall start this fall following a 7-1 victory over Coupeville on Sept. 24.
“The outlook is great for this season with this amazing group of girls we get to coach. I have coached some of these girls since they were in sixth grade. We are one big family,” said head coach Lija Devine.
Devine listed the team’s strengths: “We have an older team this year…a team that supports each other. They all just want to play together.”
Some of the Eagles’ top players include all-leaguers Jadie Calvert, a senior captain and goalkeeper; Hailie Paul, a senior stopper; Hayley Devine, a senior captain and center midfielder; and Abby Perrigoue, a junior forward. Also providing solid play are Hannah Paul, a senior sweeper; Trinity Mischel, a junior center midfielder; and Mac Minnick, a junior forward.
On her coaching psychology, Devine noted: “Our team plays for Jesus, each other and then themselves in that order always.”
