The undefeated Cedar Park Christian baseball team picked up its 12th straight win on Tuesday, beating Archbishop Murphy 3-2 at Archbishop Murphy High School.
In a battle between the top two teams in the Cascade Conference standings, the Eagles (12-0, 9-0 in Cascade) opened with three runs in the top of the first inning to take control early. The conference loss was the first for Archbishop Murphy (9-3, 7-1).
Josiah Sergeant batted 2-for-3 for Cedar Park Christian, swinging for a triple and two RBI. Teammate Michael Attalah went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Luke Lampe went 1-for-3 while driving in a run. Starting pitcher Jack Flynn pitched four innings in the winning effort, allowing one run off three hits while striking out two and walking two.
For the Wildcats, Connor O’Brien was 1-for-4 at the plate, swinging for a triple and an RBI. Collin Montez batted 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while teammate Austin Hauck went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Starting pitcher Aleks Hansen allowed three runs off three hits in four innings of work, striking out four and walking four.
Next, Cedar Park Christian will host Lakeside (10-1, 9-1 in Metro) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Marymoor Park.
