Cedar Park Christian’s boys basketball team ended its season with a 52-30 defeat against Port Townsend on Tuesday in the 1A/B tri-district playoffs. Senior, Ethan Gutheil scored nine points, Tommy McCullough added eight points and Jeff Doherty and Brandon Duffy each contributed five points.

Gutheil remarks on the last game, “We got to know each other really well. From ‘team time’ (two hours we’d spend on Mondays until practice) where we’d have devotions and just good ol’ team bonding to long bus rides and ferry trips.” Coach Adam Lynch says, ‘It was a season of near misses. It’s not like I’m totally disappointed with the season, ‘cause we did a lot of good things and proved a lot of people wrong. Especially considering the lack of experience we had.”

• In Cedar Park girls’ action, the Eagles traveled to Vashon Island last Wednesday and concluded their season with a 53-31 loss at tri-districts. Brittany Kragerud stepped up and led the team with 11 points, Mattie Shelford followed with nine points and Anna Brown added six points.
