Jump-roping
Jesse Bica, world-champion member of the Hot Dog USA jump-rope team, will be conducting a workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at Westhill Elementary School in Bothell. (This is a non-student day in the Northshore School District.)
This workshop is geared toward students kindergarten through sixth grade. No prior jump-rope experience is necessary.

Softball
Northshore Girls Slowpitch Softball is currently holding open registration to form teams for girls in grades 1-12 for the 2009 softball season. Visit www.NGSSA.com for information and registration forms.
Curling
The Beighton Rink of the Granite Curling Club, featuring Joe Purvis of Kenmore and Derrick McLean of Bothell, recently won the state junior men’s championship.
The rink, or team, will be going to the national championship Feb. 7-14 in Devil’s Lake, ND. This will be a return trip to nationals for the rink.
Baseball
Northwest Baseball Academy is now enrolling for winter/spring youth league prep camps for ages 8-13. Sessions are available for January, February and March.
Hitting camps cost $100 and run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturdays. Pitching camps cost $140 and run from 6-8 p.m. Sundays.
Each camp has a total of eight hours of instruction. Camps will be held at the academy’s indoor facility at 18025 Highway 99, Lynnwood.

Parks and Rec
• Non-Contact Tae Kwon Do for ages 7 and up from 7-8 p.m. ongoing Monday and Wednesdays at the Maywood Hills Elementary Gym (19510 104th Ave. N.E., Bothell). Cost is $52 (residents) and $57 (non-residents) for eight sessions.
• Adult Open Gym Volleyball for ages 18 and up from 6-8:30 p.m. ongoing Monday evenings at the W.A. Anderson Gym (18603 Bothell Way N.E., Bothell). Cost is $3 drop-in fee.
