The first practice and sign up will be at 5:15 p.m. Oct. 8.
The introductory program is open to children in grades 1-6. The majority of the students will have little or no experience, and the intent of the program is to introduce wrestling basics in a fun, non-competitive environment. Students will be matched by age, weight and experience.
Fee is $60 per child with discounts for multiple family members; the fee can be waived for cases of financial hardship. Wrestlers should wear regular athletic shoes, a T-shirt and shorts.
Tom Sewell, former Inglemoor High wrestling coach, is the program director. He will be joined by assistants who are former college and high-school wrestlers.
After the introductory program, they will offer the Viking Wrestling Club, which competes in a local league throughout the winter.
