Bothell’s Williamson wins 500-yard freestyle/Kingco Swimming, Gymnastics

Bothell High freshman Matt Williamson made a huge splash at Saturday's Kingco swimming championships by winning the 500-yard freestyle in a state-qualifying 5:01.56 at the University of Washington.

Bothell High freshman Matt Williamson made a huge splash at Saturday’s Kingco swimming championships by winning the 500-yard freestyle in a state-qualifying 5:01.56 at the University of Washington.

* In 4A Kingco gymnastics, Bothell finished third in the team standings to qualify for districts Saturday at Ballard High. Newport took first (174.95), Woodinville second (168.0) and Bothell third (162.85).

Cougars Raynie Hultgren (36.35) and Karli Bodine (33.25) took fourth and 10th, respectively, in the all-around competition.
