The Bothell High School girls basketball team defeated Sandpoint of Idaho, 46-35, on Wednesday to win the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho holiday tournament championship.
The Cougars jumped out to a 13-9 first-quarter lead but the team from Idaho cut that advantage to just one point by halftime.
The third quarter, and Bothell’s defense, would be the difference in the game, as the Cougars allowed just two points from Sandpoint and took an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter, where they held on for the win.
Taya Corosdale led the Cougars with 16 points.
