Bothell volleyball wins thriller against Eastlake

In a dead heat of a 4A Kingco volleyball match, Bothell High pulled out a dramatic 3-2 victory at home on Monday night against Eastlake High.

Each of the first two games went to extra points as Bothell pulled out a game-one win, 28-26, and could not finish off the Wolves in game two, falling 26-24. Games three and four were nip-and-tuck, as well, with Eastlake winning, 25-20, and the Cougars, staving elimination, pulling out the fourth game, 25-23, to set up a race-to-15 tiebreaker.

The Cougars used their momentum to pull into the lead and were able to hold on, 15-11, for the win.

For Bothell, Piercen Lundquist led her team on offense with a game-high 19 kills, followed by Haley Bedell with 12. Setter Allie Hadley recorded a remarkable 44 assists during the contest along with a team-high 22 digs. Hope Frazier notched 21 digs.

The win was Bothell’s first league victory of the year as the Cougs improved to 1-2 (2-5 overall).
