The Knights got on the board first with a goal during the 18th minute of play. But the Cougars regrouped at halftime and dominated the second half.
Rigoberto Loreto took a pass from teammate Johan Muliadi and put the ball into the back of the Newport net to tie the game during the 54th minute of play.
Two minutes later Kyle Lewis and Kazuki Magome teamed up to give Bothell the lead, as Lewis sent a rocket shot into the Knights goal.
