Bothell upset by Roosevelt in first round of KingCo | Prep boys basketball

The Bothell High School boys basketball team took the No. 1 seed into in the 4A KingCo tournament but lost during the first round to Roosevelt Tuesday, 70-61, at home.

The Bothell High School boys basketball team took the No. 1 seed into in the 4A KingCo tournament but lost during the first round to Roosevelt Tuesday, 70-61, at home.

The loss drops Bothell into the consolation bracket and the team will need to win four consecutive games to qualify for the district tournament.

The Cougars fell behind Tuesday during the first quarter by four points but cut that deficit to 30-28 by half time. But the Roughriders stayed consistent during the second half and pulled away from the home team, building a six-point lead during the third period and extending it during the final eight minutes of play.

Josh Martin led Bothell with 29 points, while teammate Andrew Wilson finished with 18 points.
