Bothell defeated Inglemoor, 8-3, in fastpitch action last night at the 4A Kingco Tournament and will take on Newport at 5 p.m. tonight at Hartman Park in Redmond.
If Bothell wins, it qualifies for the state tournament.
Inglemoor will play the Issaquah/Ballard winner at 5 p.m. tonight at Hartman in a loser-out contest.
In last night’s game, Bothell scored five runs in the fourth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Kendra Heyer’s bases-loaded triple broke the game open, according to Bothell coach Rob Luckey.
For Bothell, Heyer finished with two hits and four RBIs, Kelsie Morgan had two hits, Arista Honey had two RBIs and Camille Weisenbach had a double and two RBIs. Abi Bittle got the win and Allie Vick made a spectacular two-out, runners-on catch in left field before crashing into the fence.
For Inglemoor, Izzy Riddle had a pair of hits.
On Tuesday, Bothell beat Eastlake, 10-6, behind the pitching of Savannah Rose and hitting of Honey (three hits, three RBIs) and Morgan (two RBIs).
Inglemoor beat Skyline, 12-3, to set up the showdown with Bothell.
