The Bothell High School volleyball team lost to Newport Wednesday 3-0 in Bellevue.

Bothell lost the first game 25-18 and made the second game even closer, 25-21. But the Cougars ran out of any momentum during the third game, losing 25-14.

Bothell’s Reese Laufasa led the team with 20 assists, 12 digs and three aces. Teammate Cassidy Olcese led the defense with 20 digs.

Bothell drops to 5-4 in league play and 5-8 overall with the loss.
