The Bothell girls' soccer team scored two second-half goals in a 2-0 shutout of Garfield Tuesday night at Bothell High School. Mackenzie Bean scored unassisted in the 44th minute, and Samantha Mellick added one more off Katie Alne's assist 14 minutes later.

Christy Noble earned the shutout in goal for Bothell, which improved to 1-2-0 in league play and 4-4-0 overall.

 

Bothell volleyball falls to Garfield after hot start

The Bothell volleyball team got off to a fast start against Garfield on Monday night at home, but the Bulldogs rallied in the final three sets to win the 4A Kingco match 3-1.

The Cougars rolled to a 25-16 victory in match one, but lost momentum after dropping the second game 20-25 and dropped games three and four 12-25 and 16-25.

For Bothell, Lexie Bedell and Katie Arneson led the offense with nine kills, and Theresa Laufasa had 17 digs. Molly Ridgen tallied 22 assists and 10 digs for the Cougars, who dropped to 2-2 in league play and 3-4 overall.

Granard’s goal lifts Cedar Park

Going for their fifth win of the season, the Eagles’ soccer team was successful thanks to a fine defensive effort and big goal by Danica Granard, assisted by Arielle Van Puersem, in the closing minutes of the first half of a 1-0 victory over Cascade Christian.

Ryanne Fazio put a lock on the net for Cedar Park, which improved to 5-1-0 for the season.

 

Eagles’ volleyball beats Eatonville

The Cedar Park volleyball team hosted Eatonville on Monday night, and defeated the Cruisers in four games, 3-1.

After trading the first two games 25-16 and 21-25, the Eagles gained momentum and rallied 25-16, 25-7 to handily win the last two games and the match.

Mikayla Massad had a huge game for the Eagles, slamming 21 kills, while Abby Snyder did it all with a team-high 13 aces, 12 digs and 32 assists.
