One goal was all it took for the Lady Cougars to shut out Woodinville, 1-0, at Woodinville High Tuesday night in an all-Northshore matchup on the soccer pitch.

Christy Noble earned the shutout in goal for Bothell as Courtney Shish’s goal in the 20th minute, off an assist from Katie Alne, was the difference.

With the win, Bothell evened its overall record at 2-2-0.

 

Bothell boys’ golf tops Ballard

Led by a fine medalist performance by Bothell senior Max Tuckner, the Cougar boys’ golf team defeated Ballard on Tuesday afternoon at Wayne Golf Course, 204-211.

Tuckner’s 3-over 37 was good for top honors, followed by Drew Mahrt who fired a 40, with Jason Borgida and Max Hanson following with 42s.

 

Cougar boys’ tennis beaten by Beavers

The Bothell boys’ tennis team was swept by Ballard in singles action en route to a 5-2 defeat to the Beavers in a 4A Kingco tennis match Tuesday afternoon.

Highlights for the Cougars included Nevin Kalaf and Ray Lee beating David manlux and Toby Dunkelberg 6-1, 6-4, and Jakob Warner and Kevin Sim winning their doubles match in three sets, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-1.

 

Cougar volleyball falls to Monroe in five sets

The Bothell girls’ volleyball team lost a tightly-contested match to the Monroe Bearcats on Tuesday night on the road.

After dropping the first two games 14-25 and 18-25, the Cougars stormed back to win the next two 25-22 and 26-24 before falling just short, 11-15, in the fifth-set tiebreaker.

With the loss, Bothell dropped to 1-2 on the season.

Also on Tuesday night, Inglemoor was swept by Edmonds-Woodway in three games, 25-15, 25-23, and a thrilling 31-29 affair that went 10 extra points.

Inglemoor dropped to 2-1 on the season.

Cedar Park Christian also went the distance on Monday against Seattle Christian, losing the fifth set 15-8 after splitting the first four with wins of 26-24 and 25-21 against losses of 16-25 and 22-25.

For the Eagles, Mikayla Massad torched the Warriors with 14 kills, followed by Lani Hansen with nine. Kat Estrada and Kelsey Sandberg led with four aces each, while Estrada also notched 27 assists and 20 digs.
