Continuing their utter domination of the 4A Kingco Crown Division, Bothell High beat Roosevelt High, 42-0, last Friday at Seattle Memorial Stadium.
Bothell quarterbacks Mitch Muller and James Korn both had two touchdown passes, and junior running back Michael Marriott highlighted the second quarter with a 71-yard touchdown run, the longest of the year for the Cougars.
Six different players, Marriott, Colby Burk, Kurt Stottlemyer, Perry Conricode, Evan Hudson and Bobby Gagnon, scored for Bothell in the victory.
The win improved Bothell to 5-0 in league play and 5-2 overall.
The Cougars will take on top-ranked Skyline at 5 p.m. Oct. 30 at Skyline High for the 4A Kingco championship. The game will be televised live on ESPNU, which is channel 614 if you are a DirecTV subscriber and channel 148 on Dish Network.
Inglemoor will play at Newport at a time to be determined this Friday in a league-playoff crossover game.
Girls soccer
Inglemoor battled Ballard to a 1-1 draw last Thursday during a 4A Kingco soccer match at Bothell’s Pop Keeney Field.
Ballard opened up the scoring in the 18th minute, with the Vikings’ Arielle Dorman scoring the equalizer 14 minutes later off a Melanie Matthews assist. Neither team allowed another goal for the final 48 minutes of play.
The draw was Inglemoor’s fifth of the league season, as its record stands at 1-4-5 (2-5-7).
Cross country
Bothell finished fourth at last Thursday’s 4A Kingco championship meet held at Lincoln Park in Seattle. Bothell’s cumulative total of 141, based on adding up the finishing places of the varsity team’s runners, was good enough to secure a spot at this Saturday’s bi-district meet at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Park.
Alan Villavicencio was the top finisher for Bothell, running the 3.1-mile course in eighth place with a time of 16:03. Trey Parry (16:12) finished in 11th place, a nose ahead of Garfield’s Chris Wozniak, whose official time was also 16:12.
Girls swimming
Although Bothell lost its 4A Kingco swim meet last Thursday to Roosevelt, 99-87, the Cougars had much to be excited about after five swimmers posted state-qualifying times.
Katie Olsen won the 200-meter individual medley event in 2:15.24, Mariah Williamson won the 500-meter freestyle in 5:13.35 and the team of Williamson, Katie Draper, Kelsey Ellis and Tiffany Dang punched their tickets to state with a 1:44.11 time in the 200-meter freestyle relay.
