The Bothell High School boys tennis team lost a heartbreaker to Shorewood, 4-3, on Saturday.

The Cougars lost the No. 1 singles and doubles matches but put together an impressive showing during the lower seed matches. Joe Yamauchi of Bothell defeated Joseph Jang in a hard fought 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 contest, while Dylan Kato beat Peter Smith 6-3, 6-3 and Ted Liu won against Simon Forinash 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) to take a 3-1 lead.

Shorewood would sweep the doubles matches to win the contest.
