The Bothell High School boys basketball team lost an extremely close contest 61-60 at Ballard Tuesday night.

Ballard looked like it would put the home-court advantage to good use with a blowout during the first quarter, pounding the Cougars on the boards for a 19-10 lead. But Bothell showed resilience, storming back to take a one-point lead 30-29 by the half.

The teams battled basket-for-basket during the second half. The Beavers took a one-point lead during the third quarter and Bothell could not break the advantage.

The Cougars were led by Josh Martin with 20 points, Hunter Dean with 13 points and Peyton Cordova-Smith with 11 points.
