Sparked by a six-run second inning, Bothell High had no trouble with the Mariner Marauders in a 12-2 win at home on Saturday.
Starting pitcher Brian McAfee led Bothell’s offense by going 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBIs.
Contributing to the Cougars’ efforts were Michael Marriott, Gene Watson and Kevin Knapp, who each notched two hits.
The win improved the Cougars to 3-0 in nonleague play to start the season.
Inglemoor also played Mariner last weekend, on Friday afternoon, and like the Cougars, defeated the Marauders, 12-2, with the help of a big second inning.
After falling behind 2-1 after the first frame, the Vikings batted around for seven runs to break the game wide open.
For the Vikings, Marc Dickerson and Adam Mosebar both went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two of Mosebar’s hits being doubles.
Catcher Ethan Yeo went 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs, and pitcher Conor Savage pitched two innings of shutout ball for the win.
The win improved the Vikings to 2-1 on the year.
Inglemoor tennis sweeps Bothell
The Vikings won all seven of their matches last Thursday in a sweep of the Cougars in a 4A Kingco girls tennis match.
In singles, Maria Gonzales-Guervo (6-0, 6-1), Jasmine Singh (6-2, 6-1), Ratie Roles (6-4, 6-4) and Erin Bankatis (6-1, 6-2) each emerged victorious, and the doubles squads of Makayla Dear/Leanne Thim (6-2, 6-0), Ellie Tanaka/Meg McLinder (6-4, 6-2) and Audrey Wu/Emma Jackson (6-2, 7-5) won their matches.
