Bothell High School welcomes eight boys basketball teams for the Bothell Holiday Tournament this week, beginning with the first round on Dec. 28.
Kelowna is scheduled to play Shorecrest at 4 p.m. and Kamiak is set to play Juanita at 5:30 p.m.
Snohomish will play Bothell at 7 p.m. and Mariner will play O’Dea at 8:30 p.m.
Bothell is the only undefeated team in the tournament, at 7-0. Kelowna Secondary School hails from Kelowna, British Columbia, and is among the top-ranked boys basketball teams in the province. The Owls won the BC Province championship last season, and are 7-3 this season.
Kamiak is 5-1, and beat Snohomish on Dec. 6 and Mariner on Dec. 16. Shorecrest is 6-1 and beat Skyline and Issaquah earlier this season.
O’Dea is 5-2 Juanita is 3-4 on the season, including a loss to Bothell on Nov. 28. Marner is 2-4 and Snohomish is 1-6.
The semifinals are scheduled for 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 29, with the consolation games at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The championship game is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 30. The remaining consolation games are set for 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m., but the opponents may be shuffled to keep teams from repeating games later in the year.
The Bothell High girls’ basketball team is scheduled to play a nonconference game against the Juanita High girls’ team at 2 p.m. on Dec. 30 before the final day of the tournament begins.
