The Bothell High School volleyball team lost a heart breaker in five games to Newport, 3-2, on Thursday in Bellevue.
The Cougars began the contest with a 25-22 victory before the Knights tied the match with a 25-21 win of their own. The teams split the next to games, with Bothell winning 25-19 and Newport tying the match for a second time with a close 25-23 victory.
But the home-court advantage proved to be too much for the Cougars to overcome, as Newport pulled out the tiebreaker, 15-9.
