The Bothell High School girls soccer team found itself in a dire situation on Tuesday, down 2-0 after just 27 minutes of play at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.

But the road team regrouped at half time to earn an improbable win 3-2.

The comeback began 10 minutes into the second half, as Bothell’s Mackenzie Bean scored unassisted to cut the lead in half. Ten minutes later Meghan Tveit tied the game on an unassisted goal of her own.

But Tveit was not done, finding teammate Emma Foust during the 68th minute, passing her the ball for the game winning goal.

The victory is Bothell’s first in league play and raises the team’s overall record to 2-3-3.

The Cougars will travel back to Memorial Stadium on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. contest with Garfield.
